Physician Assistant | Robotic Surgery & Women’s Health
Katya is a deeply compassionate physician assistant with broad clinical experience across San Diego’s leading healthcare environments. During her time at Planned Parenthood, she served as a primary provider and also trained medical residents from UC San Diego and Scripps Health. She brings a unique blend of surgical skill, reproductive health expertise, and whole-person care to her role at the offices of Dr. Chandra Spring-Robinson.
Katya supports patients across the full spectrum of gynecologic surgery care—from initial consults and procedure-based visits to post-operative recovery and long-term follow-up. She also assists Dr. Spring-Robinson in the operating room during robotic GYN surgeries, serving as a surgical teammate in some of the region’s most complex cases.
“I want my patients to feel empowered—because too often, women are told what’s wrong, but not invited into the conversation about what’s next.”
Katya’s path to women’s health began with personal conversations—honest, vulnerable exchanges with close friends about their experiences with pain, hormones, and care that didn’t feel like care. That personal spark grew into a professional calling, shaped further by the loss of her beloved grandmother to endometrial cancer. It’s why she’s committed to early intervention, prevention, and patient education.
She earned her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from Wichita State University and completed rigorous clinical training across Kansas before returning to her hometown of San Diego to continue serving the Southern California community. Her background includes working in reproductive health, primary care, surgical medicine, and patient education.
“This isn’t just a job for me—it’s a mission. Every visit, every surgery, every conversation is an opportunity to empower women with answers and options.”
Katya’s clinical interests include:
Chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, and fibroids
Hormonal imbalance, menopause, and HRT support
IUD insertions/removals, endometrial biopsies, and in-office procedures
Pre-op/post-op surgical care and robotic assistance
Trauma-informed care & patient-led decision-making
Katya believes that language matters, both in how we talk about women’s health and how we talk with patients. She is fluent in Russian, a conversationalist in Mandarin Chinese, and always strives for clarity, dignity, and mutual understanding in every encounter.
Outside the office, Katya is a proud mom of two, often found on the sidelines of local water polo games or biking the coast with her kids. She brings that same balance of calm confidence and thoughtful precision into every patient interaction.
